Information about the Station
Les Verrières is Switzerland's first railway station, if you're coming from Pontarlier. It is located on the Paris-Neuchâtel-Bern international line.
Its imposing building housed not only railway employees, but also customs officials.
Today, it only sees four passenger trains a day that don't stop. These trains connect with the TGV at Frasne to and from Paris.
Occasionally a goods train filled with timber would pass through this station on its way to sawmills in Swiss-German.

The building of station, side road. The upper part has been converted into rented flats. It used to be flats for station staff. Taken 27/02/2021
Side road and towards Travers. Normally in this part of the Jura, the amount of snow can easily exceed 50 cm, but the winter of 2021 was not very cold, and so little snow fell. Taken 27/02/2021.
There are still a few stigmata from the last snowfall accumulated by the snowplow.
